Cosmetologist
Required Licensure or Certification(s):
- Current Licensure/ Certification to perform Cosmetology in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity
Requires handling of average-weight objects and standing/walking
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Cuts, trims, colors and shapes hair, based on clients' requests, using clippers, scissors, and trimmers
- Shampoos, rinses, conditions and dries hair
- Clean, shape, and polish fingernails and toenails using files and nail polish (natural nail service only, no acrylics)
- Shape eyebrows and remove facial hair using tweezers or wax
- Demonstrates and sells products
- Recommends hair styles and proper products to use
- Update and maintain customer information records, such as services provided
- Interview guests to gather pertinent medical information
- Maintain confidential records which may include medical and treatment information
- Clean all supplies and work stations and sanitizes tools such as scissors and combs
- Restock supplies and resources for sessions
Customer Service:
- Maintain professionalism during all sessions.
- Provide quality customer service to all clients and potential guests
- Ensure the health and safety of the participants by making sure all service areas are free of hazards
- Communicate regularly with participants, as appropriate
General Administration:
- Report facility and safety equipment issues
- Attend all staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Enforce all Spa policies and procedures as it pertains to the salon
- Enforce all building policies and procedures, and assist as needed during emergencies
Nail Technician
Required Licensure or Certification(s):
Current Licensure as a Nail Technician or Cosmetologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Physical Requirements:
- Moderate physical activity
- Requires handling of average-weight objects and standing/walking for a minimum of four (4) hours per day
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Various Manicures and Pedicures- Clean, shape, and polish fingernails and toenails using metal implements, files and nail polish. Massage of legs, feet, hands, and arms
- Shellac application and removal, and Dip application and removal
- Proper set up and cleaning of stations and pedicure tubs
- Proper set up and cleaning of implements, towels, and product used in service
- Demonstrates and sells products
- Recommends nail styles, colors, and proper products to use
- Update and maintain customer information records, such as services provided
- Interview guests to gather pertinent medical information
- Maintain confidential records which may include medical and treatment information
- Schedule appointments
- Restock supplies and resources for sessions
Customer Service:
- Maintain professionalism during all sessions
- Provide quality customer service to all clients and potential guests
- Ensure the health and safety of the participants by making sure all service areas are free of hazards
- Communicate regularly with participants, as appropriate
General Administration:
- Report facility and safety equipment issues
- Assist with other wellness programming needs
- Attend all staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Enforce all Spa policies and procedures
- Enforce all building policies and procedures, and assist as needed
Availability:
Part or Full Time
Massage Therapist
Required Licensure or Certification(s):
- Current Licensure as an LMT in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Physical Requirements:
- Moderate physical activity
- Requires handling of average-weight objects and standing/walking
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct up to 90 minute effective table sessions for clients.
- Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
- Confer with clients about their medical histories and problems with stress or pain to determine how massage will be most helpful.
- Interview clients to gather medical information.
- Maintain confidential records which may include medical and treatment information.
- Assess clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
- Provide clients with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitative exercises.
- Prepare and blend oils and apply the blends to clients' skin.
- Clean all supplies.
- Restock supplies and resources for sessions.
Customer Service:
- Maintain professionalism during all sessions.
- Provide quality customer service to all clients and potential clients, and respecting the diversity of our membership.
- Ensure the health and safety of the participants by making sure all areas are free of hazards.
- Communicate regularly with participants, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress.
- Treat clients in professional settings on or off campus.
General Administration:
- Report facility and safety equipment issues.
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Enforce all Spa policies and procedures as it pertains to the LMT program.
- Enforce all building policies and procedures, and assist as needed during emergencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
